Um ihrer Verantwortung gerecht zu werden, haben sich auch in diesem Jahr wieder rund 210 Hobbyangler der Fischerprüfung gestellt, knapp 180 von ihnen waren erfolgreich und haben aus den Händen von Matthias Fest und Ulrike Luca von der unteren Fischereibehörde ihr Prüfungszeugnis entgegengenommen. Die meisten belegten im Vorfeld intensive Vorbereitungskurse, einige wenige haben sich die nötigen Kenntnisse im Selbststudium angeeignet. Als erstes galt es, die schriftliche Prüfung zu meistern. Neben Fragen zur allgemeinen Fischkunde sowie zu Natur- und Tierschutz mussten die Prüflinge sich auch Fragen zu den entsprechenden Gesetzen stellen. Bei der anschließenden praktischen Prüfung mussten die Hobbyangler beweisen, dass sie unterschiedliche Fischarten erkennen und benennen können. Teil der Prüfung war auch das sogenannte „waidgerechte“ Zusammenstellen von Angelausrüstung und Zubehör. Dabei mussten die Prüflinge zeigen, dass sie ihr Handwerk verstehen und an die jeweiligen natürlichen Voraussetzungen anpassen können.
